Steps for participating in the URC 2025:

Identify a mentor based in your interest and the specialization area of your mentor. You can use the list below to find a mentor:

 How Your Mentor Will Help You

  • First Meeting to discuss your research interests and aspirations.

  • Guiding the Topic Choice, helping you narrow down a manageable and relevant research question within their chosen field.

  • Explain the importance of a literature review in understanding the existing body of knowledge.

  • Your mentor will help you choose the right research methods and tools for your study.

  • Learn how to collect meaningful data and analyze it to answer your research question.

  • Have your mentor guide you on structuring your paper and give feedback.

    For proper citation methods and the importance of avoiding plagiarism, you can visit the library's writing and citing resource page.

  • Your mentor will be the person who will help you submit your paper. Papers will not be accepted if not submitted with your mentor

  • Progress Meetings: Set up regular check-in meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and next steps.

    Note: One (1) award is given to each winning entry. Prizes will be split among group members.

    These awards will be given to six students whose research projects address issues relating to business, including for-profit, not-for-profit, NGOs, new ventures, etc. All areas of business (e.g, accounting, marketing, supply chain, entrepreneurship, finance, HTM, human resources, leadership, analytics, etc.) will be considered. If the winning research projects are developed by a group, the award funds will be split between the individuals in the group.

    Students will be judged based on the following criteria:

    1. Originality of the idea.
    2. Quality of research design.
    3. Interpretation of results.
    4. Presentation of findings.
    5. Clarity and quality of writing.
  • 1st Place: $250

    2nd Place: $150

    3rd Place: $100

    Note: One (1) award is given to each winning entry. Prizes will be split among group members.

    These awards will be given to three students whose research papers address issues relating to any area of political science. If the winning research papers are developed by a group, the award funds will be split between the individuals in the group.

    Students will be judged based on the following criteria:

    1. Originality of the idea.
    2. Quality of research design.
    3. Interpretation of results.
    4. Presentation of findings.
    5. Clarity and quality of writing.
